Mukteshwar - A quite Paradise (Uttarakhand)
Mukteshwar is located in Kumaon Hills of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 2286 meters. Its at a 52 km from Haldwani and 395 km from Delhi. It is a unspoiled tourist destination. Mukteshwar derived its name from an 350 year old temple dedicated to Shiva, known as Mukteshwar Dham, located at the highest point in the town in IVRI campuse. It provides an excellent view of the valleys below. One can catch a magnifiecient view of sunrise and sunset from the Mukteshwar. Apart from the scenic vistas of mountain ranges it provides, Mukteswar is also famous for its beautiful orchards, dense coniferous forests and old colonial bungalows. It is located at a distance of 52 kms from Nainital. Mukteshwar is situated at a high mountain ridge surrounded by fruit orchards and thick coniferous forest. It provides a magical view of the snow clad summits of Himalayas.
